Summer time is great season for refreshing wheat beers. After coming up with a solid recipe for a wheat beer, we have been experimenting with various fruits, particularly in the secondary fermentation. Recently we thought about trying cantaloupe, one of my personal favorite fruits. As we weren’t sure how this may turn out we made a small 1 gallon batch.

Well the result was fantastic! Very refreshing with a mellow melon finish. Unfortunately we only had 1 gallon to enjoy, so here we are preparing a lot more cantaloupe for a 5 gallon batch. Summer is far from over and we look forward to enjoying this new beer in a few weeks.

Cheers!
